Is The Grass Pet Friendly?
|
Certainly. Non-toxic and easy to clean, MaxLawn is a very good choice for your pets.
In fact, our turf is widely used in kennels. Synthetic turf is porous, allowing all liquids
to drain through to the ground below and will not stain. A little scooping and hosing
will keep your lawn fresh, as well eliminating bare patches and mud. |
Can animal waste ruin my MaxLawn yard?
Artificial turf is porous, allowing all liquids to drain through to the ground below and will not stain. A little scooping and hosing will keep your lawn fresh.
How is the turf priced?
The grass is priced on a per square foot basis and is determined by many variables such as geographic region, ground preparation requirements, access to the area, size of the job, etc. Our sales staff will evaluate the project site and provide you with a custom quote and accurate answers to all your questions. With our experience in this industry, we will make specific recommendations on the best options that will serve you best for years to come.
Does water drain through the grass?
Yes, our grass can be perforated throughout to allow for water to properly flow through into the drainage base that has been applied underneath. Also, in certain applications, the turf may not be perforated to achieve horizontal or surface drainage. Any additional landscape requirements can be dealt with during the installation process to make sure drainage is adequate.
Does the grass mold or mildew?
Maxlawn turf products are non-absorbing. Combined with an efficient drainage base designed to carry water away from the grass, mold and mildew are not a problem.
How hot does the grass get?
Actual temperatures will vary by climate, season, and the amount of shaded areas. On average, artificial grass is usually 10-15 degrees hotter than natural grass. You can hose it down to cool when needed, but it is usually not a problem for athletes, so it is fine for commercial and residential use.
Is synthetic grass flammable?
No. However, you should avoid using hot objects such as grills and fire pits directly on the turf surface. This also applies to flammable or corrosive substances.
How much water would I really save by using your grass?
The majority of your monthly water bill is for outdoor use, so not having to water your lawn will definitely save you money over time and avoid any problems normally associated with water restrictions. In fact, some states offer credit for installing artificial turf due to the water savings it offers.
What if I spill something?
MaxLawn turf is made of non absorbing materials that would allow you to easily clean any spill. We do recommend cleaning up food and other spills immediately. A complete care guide will be provided to you after the completion of the job that will tell you how to maintain your grass and deal with any accidents.
What about insects?
Since artificial grass does not appeal to insects, nor provide any kind of habitat, typical backyard pests associated with natural lawns are generally no longer a problem.
What is infill?
MaxLawn utilizes sand infill in our turf. This technique provides a comfortable and natural feel and is the most effective means known to keep the synthetic blades upright and prevent turf that mats down. In athletic applications, recycled ground up rubber tires are used as an infill material. Basically, infill products replace natural dirt and eliminate the mess real soil can create.
Is rubber infill always required?
No, some MaxLawn systems may require only a small amount of sand, because the actual face weight of the grass is so heavy. Like carpet, the turf weight is measured in ounces. MaxLawn products do not require rubber infill due to the increased weight of the surface fibers.
Is rubber infill safe?
Multiple testing has verified that rubber infill is completely safe and harmless. MaxLawn has been providing safe turf applications for daycares, playgrounds and schools for years. We will be happy to provide you with information on the testing and safety of infill verified by the Synthetic Turf Council. Recent media investigations regarding lead have proved to be only linked to athletic fields installed many years ago before technology improved, and the dangers of lead exposure were truly known. MaxLawn takes your health and safety very seriously and makes every effort to provide you with all the information needed to put you at ease.
Why Choose a Synthetic Grass Lawn?
When properly installed, artificial turf can provide you with a beautiful lawn without the expense and effort of trying to maintain natural grass. Quality artificial turf has become an alternative landscaping choice to natural lawns, especially in areas hard to maintain or where grass has difficulty growing naturally. In addition to these obvious benefits, you will save money and have much more time to enjoy your beautiful green lawn.
What kind of maintenance does it require?
Compared to the cost and time involved in maintaining a natural lawn, artificial lawn is easy to take care of. Natural debris such as leaves can easily be removed by using a leaf blower. Rakes may be required for removing larger objects. However, the leaf blower is usually sufficient for general upkeep. For high traffic areas, a stiff broom may be used.
Will my lawn fade?
MaxLawn turf has a UV protection built in that will allow it to hold its color over time. Even after many years in direct sunlight, any change in color would be very difficult to detect. Have no worries, your artificial turf lawn will provide you years of beautiful green grass.
What about weeds?
The tough turf backing deters weed growth. On occasion, you may see a few small weeds popping up along a border. In comparison to the weeds you would have to deal with all over your natural lawn, this is an easy maintenance task.
How long does it take to install?
